Penny Stock Picks 2011 - Penny Stock Introduction

To learn about penny stock picks in the first place, we have to go back to the question
of ...

What is a Penny Stock before looking at exactly what is a Penny Stock Pick?

Penny Stock is a term used in the US for shares which are sold for $1.  However, in
the UK, these shares are called Penny Shares but relate to the same methodology in
share trading.

The penny stocks are in fact, shares belonging to small public companies which trade
for under the $1 mark (or UK one pound).  These share are not traded on the major
stock exchange but are generally traded via the Pink Sheets and OTCBB quotation
system.

Selling penny stock is a way for a small company to generate funds to invest back into
his company and for an investor to own part of the company, should they see that it
has prospective growth for a good return on their investment.

Generally a small business owner will not have the required knowledge to sell his
shares and may leave this in the hands of his accountant.  The accountant may pass
the selling of the stocks on to a specialist penny stocks trading company.  They in turn
offer their penny stock picks to their own database of interested parties.

In the main, a significant amount of due diligence will be required on an investors part
due to the potential unscrupulous trading that can easily occur with fraudulent penny stock picks.
